Cell Phone Sally Program

The McLennan County 9-1-1 Public Education program works with thousands of children and adults every year. One of the programs that MCEAD offers is the Cell Phone Sally Program. Cell Phone Sally is the 9-1-1 Mascot that was developed by the Public Educators of Texas and the Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications. Cell Phone Sally travels to schools all throughout McLennan County talking to students that are in Kindergarten through second grade about 9-1-1. She teaches the students when and how to call 9-1-1. Cell Phone Sally’s message will encourage people to verify their cellular phone number, and give exact location information including an address, cross streets and/or landmarks when making a cellular 9-1-1 call, in order to ensure that emergency response arrives to help. If you would like to schedule a presentation for your school please download and complete the registration form or contact Joanne Gilliam at 254-776-8911 jgilliam@mcead911.org.

Traveling Trunk

McLennan County 9-1-1 offers the 9-1-1 Traveling Trunk. The Traveling Trunk was designed and developed for daycare and pre-k students. The trunk is filled with uniforms, books, and many educational pieces that teach the younger students about 9-1-1. The Traveling Trunk is a great asset because it teaches children at an early age about 9-1-1. The earlier they learn the safer they will become in the future. If you would like to check out the 9-1-1 Traveling Trunk please down load and complete the registration form or contact Joanne Gilliam at 254-776-8911 jgilliam@mcead911.org
