Red E. Fox
Red E. Fox is the official 9-1-1 mascot that visits school programs and various sites around the county. Generally, from August through December, more than 5,000 students have an opportunity to meet Red E. Fox on their campuses.
Cell Phone Sally
Cell Phone Sally is helping inform people of the limitations of cellular phones when making a 9-1-1 call. Cell Phone Sally encourages people to be sure to verify their cellular phone number and identify landmarks when placing 9-1-1 calls on a cell phone because even with location identification for cell phone calls - not all calls will arrive at the PSAP with this information..
Telecommunicator of the Year
Telecommunicators are nominated for this state recognition by their supervisors. Ten telecommunicators from around Texas are selected for this honor and recognized at the annual spring Texas Emergency Number Association (TENA) Conference.
Telecommunicator Week
Celebrated the second full week in April, Telecommunicator Week focuses on the District's telecommunicators and their families.
9-1-1 Day
While September 11 is another working day for telecommunicators, this date helps promote the 9-1-1 system in MCEAD and create public awareness.
Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo
Every October, Central Texas celebrates the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo in Waco, Texas. McLennan County 9-1-1 often has a booth at the fair, giving the District a chance to meet many of the citizens they serve.
