- 1987 - voters passed resolution to form 9-1-1 district in McLennan County
- Dec. 16, 1989 - first 9-1-1 call received at Waco Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).
- Nov. 2, 2000 - first Phase I Wireless 9-1-1 call received at Waco PSAP from a Nextel Partners cell phone. (Phase I gives the location of the cell tower and call back number of cell phone).
- July 29, 2003 - first Phase II Wireless 9-1-1 call received at Lacy Lakeview PSAP from a T-Mobile cell phone. (Phase II provides the Latitude/Longitude coordinates of the caller's physical location so it can be mapped).
- Jan 7, 2004 - first Phase II Wireless 9-1-1 call mapped accurately to within 10 meters of caller location received at Waco PSAP from a Nextel Partners cell phone.
- Apr 1, 2008 - first 9-1-1 call taken from remote PSAP when Robinson Police Department went live running off CPE installed at Waco PD PSAP.
